A Bangladeshi youth received injuries when he stepped on a landmine Tumbru border area under Naikhongchari upazila of Bandarban on Friday (September 16).
The injured was known as Athoyaing Tangchanga, 22, son of Angkathain Tangchanga.

Local sources said, the incident happened when the youth crossed into the border zone at pillar number 35 around 3:00pm. Later, he was taken to Kutupalang MSF Hospital and shifted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
Confirming the matter, Naikhongchari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Salma Ferdous said, the locals were asked not to visit the border area now.
