Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui said that the border situation is completely under the control of the BGB. Following the direction of Prime Minister, we are trying to face the situation with patience, humanitarian ground and maintaining international good relations.
The BGB Chief said this while addressing reporters after visiting Ghumdhum border area in Naikhongchhari upazila in Bandarban on Wednesday (February 7).
No one will be allowed to enter into Bangladesh illegally, he said.
Meanwhile, the BGB Director General directed all to perform their duties with utmost professionalism to protect the sovereignty of the country.
He also said that so far 264 BGB members from Myanmar have taken refuge in Bangladesh. They are being given food and security. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar has been asked to take them back as soon as possible who have taken refuge in Bangladesh.
