We see the sad truth about wars on TV and online every day. Fighting is happening in many places around the world, and it is ruining lives and the future for so many people. In recent weeks, the situation became very dangerous due to conflict between Israel and Iran in the Middle East. News reports indicated that by June 23, 2025, hundreds of people, possibly as many as 950, had died in Iran, and thousands more were hurt. Sadly, in Israel too, about 20 to 24 people lost their lives.
Then, things got even more dangerous. Around June 22, 2025, just eight days after the fighting got bad again, the United States of America got directly involved. They attacked three places where Iran does nuclear work. This made the whole world very worried, and now everyone is wondering what will happen next. Iran's government said they would hit Israel back, and they have done so many times. Also, leaders in Iran have threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial sea route for oil. If this happens, the price of oil could rise significantly, making everyday necessities more expensive for people everywhere in the world. Just think about how scared and helpless normal people must feel when things get so out of control.
We also can't forget the long and awful fight between Israel and Palestine, which has been going on for so long it feels like forever. Between October 2023 and June 2025, a heartbreaking number of people have died. In Gaza, it's said that over 61,709 people have been killed, and more than 17,000 of them were innocent children whose lives were just beginning. In Israel, around 1,139 people have also died in this same heartbreaking fight. That's just too much sadness and pain for anyone to have to deal with.
And then there's the terrible war between Ukraine and Russia, which started in February 2022. For more than three long years, it has only brought destruction and sadness. The United Nations says that by the end of May 2025, at least 13,341 regular people in Ukraine have been killed, and over 32,744 have been hurt. It's also very sad that so many soldiers on both sides have lost their lives in this brutal war. Think about how many families are heartbroken, who have lost their homes and their hopes for the future.
While some argue that war can sometimes lead to peace in the long run, and they might point to things that happened a long time ago. But when we really see how much suffering and sadness wars cause, it's hard to believe that. War makes people angry and want to get even. It doesn't just break buildings; it breaks apart families and communities, leaving people with terrible memories that last for years. Often, when one war stops, another one starts later.
The simple truth is that most ordinary people everywhere in the world don't want war. They know it means they could lose their lives, get badly hurt, and see the people they love suffer terribly. War takes away everything they have worked hard for. It forces them to leave their homes and live in fear all the time. Children can't go to school, and people can't get the doctors and medicine they need when they are sick.
Instead of fighting, people everywhere want to talk to each other and find peaceful ways to solve problems. They want the leaders of countries to sit down together, really listen to each other, and find ways to agree without fighting. Everyone dreams of a world where they can live safely and happily, without being scared of bombs and guns. Peace isn't just when there's no fighting; it's about being fair to everyone, being kind, and making sure everyone has the basic things they need. War just takes us further away from this dream. We all need to hope and work for a future where fighting is never the answer.
Now is a very important time for the leaders of the world to be strong and wise and to stop these pointless wars right now. The United Nations has a big job to do in this. They need to help the countries that are fighting talk to each other – like Iran and Israel, Ukraine and Russia, and Israel and Palestine. We must remember this one thing: if we don't stop war, war will end us all. The way countries do business with each other will be ruined, and the prices of everything might go up so much that it will hurt everyone, and there could be terrible problems like not enough food for people. Also, the people who have had to leave their homes because of war, both inside their own country and in other countries, need our help and support. We need to make sure they have what they need to live and that they are treated with respect.
Following international rules is key to dealing with terrorism peacefully and fairly. Countries should work together and use laws, not just fighting, to handle terrorist groups.
First, it's important to stop terrorism from starting in the first place. This means having good government, respecting people's rights, being fair, and stopping corruption. It also means making sure people have jobs, education, and feel like they belong. Teaching people to understand each other and reject bad ideas about terrorism is also important.
It's very important to respect everyone's basic rights when fighting terrorism. Anyone accused should be considered innocent until proven guilty. They should have the right to a lawyer and a fair chance to defend themselves. No one should be tortured or treated badly, and only the people who commit terrorist acts should be punished, not whole groups of people.
Sometimes, talking and making deals with certain people involved in terrorism might be a way to find peace, but this needs to be done very carefully. Also, countries should not attack terrorist groups in other countries without permission or unless the UN says it's okay. This can cause more problems. Overall, countries need to focus on stopping terrorism before it starts, using laws and working together, respecting people's rights, and trying to find peaceful solutions through talking and cooperation. This way, they can deal with terrorism fairly and make the world safer.
I really believe that we can't build real and lasting peace with bombs and rockets. Instead, we need to build our future on loving and respecting everyone, no matter what country they are from, what religion they follow, what their skin color is, or anything else that makes them different. Every single person deserves to be treated with kindness and respect, just because they are human beings. Let's all choose the path of peace, understanding, and caring for each other before it's too late.
