ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) is looking for suitable candidate for the following position:

Associate Project Officer

Project :  Mobilize and strengthen Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for building an energy efficient green society through improving policies and practices (TARA Project)

Location of posting : Dhaka

Types of contract : Contractual

Duration: Till 31 December 2021

Number of positions: 1 (One)

Salary and benefits : Monthly Gross Salary will be 45,998/- with other admissible benefits such as, mobile & modem allowance, medical benefit, group life insurance etc;

Position Summary

The purpose of position is to achieve target of the project through supporting Civil Society Organizations, Platforms, Partners and communities. Specific responsibilities are support to partner`s and civil society on their policy advocacy, policy brief and report generation, public meetings and events, support human rights defenders to ensure human rights and protect environment. Supports to the team according to the program, policy and strategic direction. Also responsible for attaining the emerging and priority issue that required by the organization.Key responsibilities include (not limited to):Campaign and policy advocacy

• Provide support to the team and Civil Society Organization and partners on advocacy initiatives for the energy efficiency.
• Maintain and build link and network of local, national and international level CSOs for developing or collecting document/documents, organize event, media and CSO mobilization, etc;
• Maintain liaison with respective government official, agencies and public representatives.
• Develop and create evidence for influencing policy makers and other policy stakeholders.
• Organize training, workshop, seminar and multi-log at the national and local level.

Report writing in English and Bangla

• Prepare half yearly, annual, issue based and project completion report according to the donor requirement.
• Prepare case study and survey report for advocacy and reporting purpose
• Prepare issue-based and situation report for campaign and project report.

RelationshipsHe/she will report to Project Coordinator of Tara Project. S/he is expected to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers in team, priority, project management team. S/he must be able to communicate with other teams and units, both programme and functions of AAB.Required Educational Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, Development studies, Public policy and governance or any other relevant field of study.

Experience

• 2 years in relevant experience (preferably on human rights, Environment and climate change) in any development organizations.

Other Requirements:

• Working Knowledge on energy, land and environmental policy/acts, displacement, safeguard mechanism, research work and human rights.
• Working experiences in development organizations in relevant programme.
• Energy sector, b. Corporate conduct, c. human rights and ecological justice issues.
• Advocacy & campaign on the mentioned areas.
• Grass-root mobilization on human right related issues.
• Experience of preparing quality policy brief, program and event report reports.

Technical Skill

• Report writing in English and Bangla.
• Computer literacy on MS Office and database.
• Presentation and facilitation with participatory approach.
• Communication and liaison with policy stakeholders, CSOs and partners.
